Contemporary ceramic works are experiencing a welcome resurgence and Kim Tucker's piece is indicative of this current wave. The textured, provocatively-wrought figure preening on a ledge seems to elicit the current emotional, prideful and urgent state of body politics. Although patently inexplicit, the work utilizes the power of ambiguous form and the wry result is much more than the sum of the artist's technical prowess.
